This is Just a Shell!

While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it's not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life.
2 Corinthians 5:4 (NLT)

Let me start by saying that this verse is beautiful.

Today wasn't a bad day, but I just felt like things were off balance. The energy that I was feeling on the inside was not in sync with what was going on outwardly. I woke up feeling lethargic and a tad sad, which is VERY abnormal for me. But let me get to the point.

This verse just made my entire day better, because it doesn't matter how my earthly body feels, as long as I can speak life to my soul I will be alright. The scripture says it perfectly: "these bodies clothe us." No matter how you feel, or what's going on in your life, know that it is not permanent, and as Meek Mill says, there are levels to that!

Emotional and physical hurt are not only temporary in the sense that trouble don't last always, but they are also temporary in the fact that one day Jesus is going to come back, and in the moment of a twinkling of an eye we will be changed into our earthly bodies.

The next time you have a bad day, wake up on the wrong side of the bed (as I did in a sense), get sick, hurt, or anything else that would make your day less than abundant and joyful, re-read this verse and know that God equipped you with the tools to be able to face anything, and even when our earthly bodies feel weak the spirit that resides within us is strong.

Always with love,
Gabs
